Frequently Asked Questions

What does the apprenticeship cost?

We use a work-study model. Apprentices participate in real construction projects (like building a Seed Eco-Home) and receive training in exchange. Housing is provided. You pay with your labor and learning.

Where is the program located?

All sessions take place at Factor e Farm in rural Missouri, USA — the headquarters of Open Source Ecology.

Do I need experience in building or engineering?

No. You need curiosity, commitment, and willingness to learn. We’ve trained people from all backgrounds — farmers, coders, teachers, artists, and more.

Is this full-time?

Yes. The apprenticeship is an intensive, full-time residential program. Expect to work and learn on-site five to six days per week for 12 weeks.

Can international applicants join?

Yes! We welcome applicants from around the world. You’ll need to handle your own visa if required (we’ll support with invitation letters).

What happens after the program?

Graduates can go on to start OSE-style enterprises, help run future builds, or join collaborative product development teams to complete the Global Village Construction Set by 2028.
